Clearing the mind

Ok say what you will but Rev Run has the right idea at the end of every show. Sit in a bubble bath relax and send out daily spirtual lessons. So here I am the secound Sunday in a row sitting in my tub clearing my mind. But it does take more then just relaxing to clear my mind. For the last week I have been wanting to get a new mix done for the summer. For the past few months I have wanted to COMPLETE an orignal track. I have not been able to do either. I can't find the direction for the mix and I can't stay focused on a sound for a track. It wasn't until I looked around and relized I don't want to be in here it's cluddered and a over all mess and I was loseing focus so this weekend I have set forth to clean my studio and get orginiazed again. I have to do this every once in awhile. Put projects on hold and clean. So here are to before pics and the goal is by this time next week I will have after shots and a brand new Dj mix. Until then keep on listening

Harder They Fall by DJ Justin Sane

So here is a mix that started out just being something for the Wakkarusa DJ Winter Classic competition. It actually started as my first attempt in doing a Dj mix all on Abelton Live. Not a lot of people know this but now a majority of Dj mixes are done on computer and not mixed "the old fashion way." I have nothing against this I just like a more hands on approach. Recording a Djmix is a hard thing for me to do anyway just because when ever I am playing live I am so caught in the moment and its tough to get the same feeling in the studio. But I started working on this mix with Abelton and got a good bit done but of course I felt that it wasn't part of me so I took to the CDJs and mixer instead. The mix started off how I would want any live set to start with a bang a song that's going to let you know that this is a party and this is how it is going to be done. From there it went through so many different levels of house and electro that I was worried it would be to scattered, but I wasn't worried about that when I played LE Castlevanias remix of "In It For The Kill" to wrap the mix up. It was like butting that final epic energetic bow on top of a perfect gift. I remember when I mixed it in the studio I couldn't help but turn the speakers up and dance and sing along.. Anyway a little back story there I am working on a new mix to help me get motivated for the summer as well as motivated for more production. So until next all enjoy

This is a blog

SO I am going to start blogging, and it starts now.
I'm hoping to chronicle some of my best moments in my DJ life right here. I have had this feeling recently that I'm going to make great steps in my career so that's were I got the idea to start this blog. I'm trying to find a good app on my iPhone so I may update it whenever I feel. Also I might get bored and just post something random and fun like pictures of the hell beast I call my dog. Also I will try to update at least every time I play a show or have any part with a show so lets see were this all will take us and stay tuned in.
